What’s my inspiration behind the Modern Marthas blog launch?  Well, it has to do with the lovely and talented DIY queen Ms. Martha Stewart (naturally)… but that’s not all. 

You know the story in the Bible about Mary and Martha?  Martha tried to be the perfect little homemaker and host for Jesus, and he basically told her to RELAX.  I want to be Martha, revised!  I strive to be both what God wants of me and to entertain my crafting and home-making itch.  I want to be my own little Modern Martha, and I know there are more of you out there who feel the same.

I’m having so much fun nesting in my first house, and it’s even more fun to share the experience!

My blog will consist of 5 categories (that will most likely change/be added to) in the future:

• Gettin’ Crafty (repurposing and do-it-yourself projects)
• Decor and Design (ideas for the home)
• Thrify Finds (treasure hunting at thrift stores and yard sales)
• Random (recipes, themed things, other fun stuff, everything else)
• Fave Link of the Month (monthly posts of websites/blogs/stuff I like)
