BBB

Baked brie on a budget.

I’m taking a break from my delicious feast to post this.

Short and sweet, I am telling you, MAKE THIS tomorrow. So easy and oh so good.

BBB:

  • Brie cheese (get the imported kind, this one splurge, you’ll thank me)
  • Chopped apples & pears
  • Maple syrup
  • Cinnamon
  • Lemon juice
  • Red wine vinegar

Set the cheese aside in a baking dish and cook the fruit in a saucepan with the rest of the ingredients until the pieces are tender. Pour the mixture over the cheese and bake at 250 degrees for about 15 min. (or until melted).

Done-zo!

Serve with crackers and more fruit if desired… and wine of course.

Remember my party planning friend Karis who put together this awesome Princess Tea Party for her little girl? Well, she’s got a blog up and running, and it’s April’s FLM.

Check out this sweet handmade bridal shower she did recently.

“Wishing Tree”, such a cute idea:

Loving these “it’s your day” cupcakes. She’s the cupcake queen.

There’s more on her blog:  The Sunshine Studio. She is working on getting a website up also.

You’ll be seeing Karis’ skills again for our better-late-than-never housewarming party in June. It’s gonna be awesome.

the tub that cures a multitude of ills

I was not generally planning  on blogging about any of the big renovation-type things that we’ve done to our house since Modern Marthas is more about home decor and DIY… BUT, I just had to share my little slice of heaven with you and I promise I’ll make it brief.

The hubs and I had an agreement when we bought our house. Since the bathroom was outdated and needed to be redone anyway, we decided to allocate some money towards something I’ve been dreaming about for many moons: a clawfoot bathtub.

As you know, I absolutely LOVE anything classic and this is the epitome of the syle I love. Here she is in all her glory (disclaimer, I didn’t clean or stage the bathroom before taking this pic, cut me some slack girls)  🙂

I am here to tell you. This tub is a tub of healing.

We purchased ours from Vintage Tub and Bath.

I filled this baby up after a long week and relaxed in it with a glass of wine last night. It was heavenly.

If you ever get the chance to own a clawfoot tub, take it!
